It's made of a hard material. It hasn't softened even after I used it 10-15 times.

Really good looking and sturdy made lead.A good addition to a good trainer. When using a training lead like this many people think that when the part of the lead around the neck of the dog gets tight it will stop pulling.Nope, this is not the case. This is not made to be used like that as this can hurt the dog.If the lead drops down to almost shoulders level of the dog, in most cases the dog feels safe and confident to pull harder like that and will run even faster. The whole idea of this training lead is to put it on the highest possible place on the neck of the dog - if possible, just under the ears.Make the lead tight enough to stay there without falling by moving the button stopper close to the dog's neck.If it drops lower on the neck - you are loosing control of the dog.You need to make the lead loose enough to be able to put 1 or 2 fingers next to the dog's neck without issues, but not more than 2 as it will be too loose. We want to train the dog, but not to hurt the dog.Putting the lead there helps to control the head of the dog without the need of pulling or anything like that. When you start walking with the dog leave just about half a meter of the whole lead between you and the dog and hold your hand on the level of your shoulders.Keep the lead straight and never loose.Try on one place to move your hand to the left side and to the right side and you will see your dog moves his/her head to the left or right. When walking the dog make sure you watch the dog as you can see when the dog will start pulling in next 3 second. It lowers the nose down and start looking at one point. This is the time to pull the lead to distract the dog.You need quick pull with really short movement, just with the wrist.Sometimes you will need more that one pull like that as the dog will keep looking at the same point. You need to keep pulling like that until the dog stops looking at that point. You can try to move his/her head to the opposite direction with the lead and still pull with short wrist movements while doing that - many times but always short. If you pull with long movement the dog will start pulling as well.Looks weird when you walk the dog like that ,but try like that few days and then your dog will know that someone else is the boss and will stop pulling. Some dogs will need just one day like that, some will need a lot more. When the dog is not pulling anymore, you can still repeat this lesson from time to time.Hopefully my review was Helpful for you.
