De afstandssensoren van Sharp zijn een populaire keuze voor veel projecten waarbij nauwkeurige afstandsmetingen nodig zijn.
Deze IR-sensor is zuiniger dan sonar-afstandsmeter, maar biedt veel betere prestaties dan andere IR-alternatieven.
De meeste microcontrollers kunnen probleemloos worden aangesloten: de enkele analoge uitgang kan worden aangesloten op een analoge digitale converter voor afstandsmeting, of de uitgang kan worden aangesloten op een comparator voor drempelwaardedetectie.
Het detectiebereik van deze versie bedraagt ca. 10 tot 80 cm.
De GP2Y0A21 maakt gebruik van een 3-polige JST-aansluiting (meegeleverd). Het is ook eenvoudig om drie draden op de sensor te solderen waarop de aansluitpennen zijn aangebracht. Als je naar achteren kijkt, zijn de drie aansluitingen van links naar rechts stroom, massa en het uitgangssignaal.

Ovviamente se cercate la precisione millimetrica, non fa per voi, ma per ciò che costa fa il suo dovere nei limiti del sensore infrarosso molto sensibile al cambio di luce e le pareti sulle quali riflette! Consigliato per uso hobbystico

These are great sensors, but beware the ones I got only had stripped ends on the cables not three silver pins for breadboards, which are clearly shown in the photos. This is the only reason I have put this at 3 starsIn use these are pretty cool, with nice stable readings. But you will need to ensure you add at least a 10uF capacitor over your VCC and ground rail if you are on an arduino to smooth out any power ripples. This is clearly laid out in the Sharp documentation.Be aware your mileage may vary on readings depending on the level of IR light in your room, this could be especially bad outside. But this is a given on any IR sensor

It seams very common that people selling sensors with wrong distances! Also this guy here, wrote down that the sensor works from 10 cm to 80 cm but it was a scam. The sensor only works between 10cm and 25cm like in the Video that was posted further up. Its the 2nd sensor that I bought and the 1st on also dont had the distance that they wrote down in the offer. So dont trust them, just test the sensors as fast as possible after you got them. Dont make the same mistake like me and wait until the return period has expired !
