Indian Spice Roasting Spoon (Vaghar Vadki) van Indian Tiffin by Indian Tiffin

I have used this tadka (Indian or Hindi name for seasoning) spoon (Indian Spice Roasting Spoon) from amazon.com since 8 months.Pros - I find it very useful for making Indian curries, I steam the chopped vegetables first in a separate vessel.Then use this wide bottom spoon for tadka (heat oil, add seasonings and spices - cumin seeds, urad dal, black mustard seeds, dried red chillis, curry leaves, ginger/garlic pieces/paste, some spice powders like coriander powder, turmeric powder etc. Don't over-roast or the seasonings burn easily.I lift the spoon and add the tadka contents into the vessel of steamed vegetables and stir well. Healthy and wholesome vegetable curry ready!Cons - I position this spoon on the stove top carefully, the handle is not very stable by itself. I use a stable support near it(like a small tin) so that it does not tilt over.The copper coating is not durable, is peeling off after 8 months of frequent use. The spoon is still functional though.Price - Okay, bit on the higher side for the quality.Verdict - Will buy again, if needed.

Great little pan for roasting whole spices. Easy to clean and even looks nice hanging up in my kitchen

Excellent little roasting spoon. The handle was a bit loose, but a couple of turns with a screwdriver fixed that. I saw in the reviews that some people found the glue from the label hard to remove, but it came off easily with a couple of drops of white spirit.

good for the price and is good for small amounts i have a gas stove i haven't tried on electric stove

I can't see this lasting long, the weld between the handle and bowl seems very flimsy.I removed the stickers easily by immersing it in hot water for 20 minutes then simply peeled them off.I purchased it to use as a prop in food photo shoots. It did the trick and looked great in my pics.I haven't used it to roast spices in as yet, though will do soon.
