Bought this together with a rice cooker purchase.We went with the 2.5-Quart capacity, so hopefully it'll accommodate 6 cups of uncooked rice for rinsing.We've only been making 2-cup batches to start with.This makes rinsing rice much easier and quicker than working with a larger bowl, instead of swishing rice around with your hands/fingers in ice cold tap water, and possibly losing a bit of rice down the sink drain in the process.This is so easy, pour in your cups of rice, and run under a cold running faucet, keep swirl/swishing motion the strainer around in a circular pattern for several minutes - at least for 2-3 cups worth of rice.For larger amounts like 4-6 cups, if you want to keep your hands and fingers dry, a person could rinse rice done in smaller manageable 2-3 cup batches at a time.Keep swishing rice around until water below runs clear, swirl and tilt the rice rinser side to side, and to the front. Water exits from 2 places - the small grill at the bottom, and the slotted grill in the front pouring lip - both are small enough to prevent rice from escaping. Some grains of rice may get stuck in the grid or slots, but very easy to tap or poke out. Nothing has permanently logged stuck in yet, and worse case, would only require a pin to dislodge.We're very pleased with this affordable and necessary purchase. As other reviewers have stated, it literally is a game changer, not having to deal with ice cold tap water and getting cold fingers while trying to rinse the rice for several minutes.To anyone who already has a rice cooker, or looking to buy their very first one: we highly recommend you buy one of these with your rice cooker purchase.

Funzionali. Sono di un ottimo materiale. È una plastica non rigida. Difficilmente frangibile. Acquisto estremamente soddisfacente.

This is a big bowl and useful for not only rinsing rice, but all fruit, vegetables and dried beans and pulses. You can also use it as a colander. The 2.5 quart is the size I ordered as it has the drainage holes in the bottom. It is big for me for a one to two portion of rice, but I am keeping it because I will use it. Being bigger, you just have to consider storage, especially, if, like me, you have a small kitchen.

Auch das entnehmen der gereinigten Körner klappt besser als mit dem Küchensieb, welches ich vorher benutzte.Japaner wissen halt, worauf es bei ihrem Grundnahrungsmittel ankommt.Nicht ganz günstig, aber das Geld wert.
