If you are comfortable putting a new faucet onto a sink then this should be no trouble for you. A pro plumber should have no trouble at all. All you need is a spare hole in the counter where you want the hot tap to go, and a 115v socket under the sink where you want the main unit to go. Keep in mind that the socket will need to be hot at all times to keep the water in the tank hot. My socket was switched so that it controlls the garbage disposal. I was replacing my disposal at the same time, so I added an insinkerator countertop switch (requires another spare countertop hole). Now I just leave the wall switch on, which keeps the HOT150 powered, and use the counter switch to turn the disposal on & off. If i want the hot water off like if I'm off on vacation, I can just flip the wall switch. If you don't have a countertop hole for this, you might need to rewire your under-sink socket so it has a switched socket, and an always-hot socket. The water lines provided are somewhat short, so I got a 18in piece of braided stainless hose and adapted it to the lines from the unit. The unit uses a 1/4" copper tube as its main feed line, so you will need to purchase a T-fitting to add a new outlet on your sink's supply to feed the unit, and a compression fitting for the copper line, plus whatever other tubes and adapters. In my setup I have a standard sink tee->braided hose->stepdown adapter->compression fitting. you may wind up with something a little different depending on if you need the extra hose and what fittings your store carries.once you have all the connection bits its really plug and play: drop the faucet in from the top, screw the unit to the wall, plug in the lines from the faucet to the unit, connect the copper feed to the sink supply. Then you flush the unit for a couple of min and plug it in. Job done.In operation its pretty simple. I didn't flush as carefully as the instructions say and I did get some gurgling noise when its heating for the first day or two. I also found that when turned all the way up it actually boils the water inside. Possibly due to some air pockets, but I'd leave it set at 75% or lower to start, as it can definitely heat up above 212deg in some cases. safer to start on the cool side and bump it up till you get the temp you want. After I got the temp dialed in and the air flushed out its been quiet and excellent. I live a lone so I'm making single drinks at a time - I don't know if larger families might find the reservoir too small.Overall if basic plumbing (and possibly a little electric work) don't bother you this should be easy to install and seems to be a nice unit.

We had a previous dispenser tank that developed an internal leak. I took it apart, and a clip broke (plastic) and a hose was leaking.I decided to get the insinkerator and just installed it. We reused the old faucet with some redesign because of the open venting requirement, but it works as advertised. If you use the packaged faucet, you probably won't have a problem. I guess to make it fool proof, there are 3 different types of connectors. The inlet is a a seated 1/4 line push on connector. The output and vent are different sized vinyl push on lines. Instead of vinyl, I wish it was just a threaded connector with 3/8 push on for the output and vent.I was told long ago that tanks don't like RO water, that it breaks component down more quickly. Since the lifetime of these tanks is probably limited, I would probably not worry about it but I added a C**an input water filter. I like this one because I can mount it in a more accessible place than near the tank because I change the filter twice a year.BTW, compared to my old system, serves much hotter water, but there is more of a delay on starting the water flow, maybe 5 seconds, perhaps because this is open vented and my old one was not. After some research, some people claim it was air that came out. What comes out of the vent via a one way valve is steam and water. So the faucet must purge this out the hot side of the faucet. I modified this by hooking the vent to a saddle drain, which is just a drilled connection to a drain, the kind that RO system use. Saddle drains have a push on connector poly so it was easily converted using a hose to poly connector on the tank. The one thing I added was a simple 9v leak detector that I placed below the dispenser. My previous tank leaked, and this prevents a flood under the sink.

My former hot water tank started leaking and was not repairable so I bought this one to replace it. It is super easy to install though a second set of hands can speed along the process. The faucet is also easy to install. It works perfectly to dispense instant hot water to rinse off dishes (great on greasy items), to warm up a cup before pouring coffee or tea, or get super hot water to boil for pasta. The hot water dispenser can also be used to rinse off sticky honey jars, loosen metal lids on glass jars, wet a cloth to clean counters and other areas, rinse off a serving spoon before reusing, heat a knife before cutting a flourless chocolate cake, or warming a spoon before digging into a rock hard carton of ice cream! Get it as you'll never imagine how you managed without one!

Installed this for an elderly woman to replace her 11 year old leaking Insinkerator. Like others, had to run to the hardware store to obtain fittings. So, be prepared to do that.First one leaked at the tap. Had a constant drip about once per second even prior to turning on the boiler. Thought it best to contact Insinkerator as I thought that they would send me a replacement faucet. Instead, they referred me to a local plumbing repair shop. Surprised at their decision because I indicated to them that I installed the unit myself and I have a video that clearly shows that the drip is from the outlet part of the faucet and not a plumbing leak. Thought this was odd because Insinkerator was willing to do a costly truck role repairman to fix this hot water dispenser. Had a lot of back and forth with the repair shop that they wanted the serial number/model number of both the faucet and boiler. Unexpectedly though, both are listed on the end of power cord or one of the faucet tubing. Bad part was that the faucet was back ordered for 3-4 weeks.Instead, I submitted a return to Amazon and was pleasantly surprised that Amazon would ship a replacemennt immediately before I had to return the previous unit.Replacement unit worked perfectly. 6 weeks or so in and the unit is operating as expected. I haven't noticed any 'spitting' of hot water as the water is dispensed. Flow control and volume of flow is adequate especially for filling a cup. One thing that I realized is that the faucet should have a highly visible warning to indicate that it's a hot water dispenser. The heat of the unit is so high that it can scald your skin. Not concerned for the elderly woman knowing that it's hot but anyone else (including caregivers or guests) that might mistake it for a dish washing soap dispenser or something else. So, Thumbs up for Amazon for having such a good replacement policy. Neutral customer service for Insinkerator for taking care of me by referring me to a local plumbing company to do a truck role to diagnose/fix the unit as they could have just easily have sent me a replacement faucet.
