The one reviewer said that he had to drain the pool a few times because these did not do the trick. These are paper filters. They filter the water that goes through them; there is a lot more to pool maintenance than a paper filter. I hate to say it, if you are just depending on these to keep your pool from going green when it is 90 degrees out you will be disappointed. I could come over and get your pool sparkling blue again, but since you probably live far away I will tell you how to do it. You need these filters, some shock, a brush, a pool vacuum for the bottom and a skimmer. Turn on the pump with these filters in there and leave it running. Brush the sides of the pool with the brush going all the way down the sides. Now dump the shock all the way around the whole pool down the sides you just brushed. Now vacuum the bottom. Use the skimmer to get anything floating on the top. Now leave the pump running 24 hours and check on the pool in the morning. Take the filter and clean it with a garden hose and put it back in. Keep the pump running and if it is still green repeat those steps. The algae stick to the sides and the bottom. The key is to kill them with the shock and dislodge them from the sides and bottom so the filter can do it's job and filter them out of the water. I hope this helped.
