In light of Intex pulling their superb solar cover for the Easy series of pools, I decided that I would go with their new solar blanket. I am so disappointed with it's performance that I decided to return it.This blanket is just that - a blanket. It sits on top of the water instead of covering the whole pool top like the old one did. As a result, every time we took it off, debris fell into the pool, causing a lot more work. There is no question that this new design does not warm as well as the old one did.I can't recommend this product and furthermore, can not understand why Intex replaced a good product with this new one.

Is this a sheet of blue bubble wrap? Yes.But does it heat the pool? Yes.We have a 6ft Intex pool. I cut this down to size. It floats on the surface and transfers heat from the bubbles of the sheet into the water. I have been measuring the temperature of the water with a digital thermometer - on a sunny 22'c April today like today the water gets up to 18'c which is quite acceptable. It also helps to keep bits of leaves and bugs out of the pool at night.If you expect this to heat the water on a dull day you're clearly not very bright. The clue is in the name - 'solar' i.e. the conversion of sunlight into energy. Just set the pool up somewhere where it will be subject to the maximum amount of sunlight. Well worth the price and much cheaper that an overprices electricity-zapping pool heater.

It's not a 'pool cover' like what you might think. It's large enough to hang over the side, but it's not meant to do that. Pull up the inflated part of the pool and tuck the extra bubble wrap material under. It's a perfect fit, and it stays in place, even in a rain storm. We've used this for about three weeks now. It's been great at keeping the leaves, nuts and other small debris out of the water, and it HAS made a big difference in the temperature. I bought this and the regular cover, which replaced the beat up one from last year, and the regular cover hasn't even been taken out of the box. I doubt I'll even use it. It's also SO much lighter and easier to take on and off than the regular cover. I wish I had found this last year.Summer 2016 update: had this cover two years. It's toast! It finally just degraded from being out in the sun. My regular pool cover is STILL in the box. This bubble wrap one is ridiculously easy to use, even on the upgraded 10' hard sided pool. Even the kids could take it on and off with no problems. The holes in the cover allow for drainage so it doesn't weigh twenty pounds when you're trying to remove it. And it DOES make a difference in the temp. After using this all year, with a consistent very warm temp, I (accidentally) left the cover off for about a week, and there was almost a ten degree drop in temperature! Absolutely worth the twenty bucks, which lasted two years. I'll be purchasing another one in the spring.
