I was skeptical as this is half way between cheapest and cheapest ones that the pro-recommend; but I am pleasently surprised now I have used it. Most disappointing is the lack of a remote control battery in the box, had to rob one from an cheap LED light that had included one.The standard thread mount is a good feature. Opening the clip for monitor mounting I also found it rather loose with no springing, but my monitor is flat on to it is sits happily. I have another USB 4K webcam that has been the best image so far, and this is up with that one. The best feature here is the 5 step zoom (needs the remote); most webcams have much too wide a view with their standard lens, and for virtual person conferencing the head should fill half the frame.Although the zoom can really zoom in, the picture quality degrades accordingly; however at my monitor distance the 2nd step zoom gave a great image at the other end and framed me well. We were using google meet and on testing the J5 microphone I was told I sounded better than on my £50 microphone. Maybe the fact that the wide case on the J5 enhances the stereo effect. or maybe Meet noise cancelling worked better.The built in mechanical shutter is a nice touch. I added some velcro to hold the remote on top so I don't mislay it. Die Kamera kam gut verpackt an und machte einen wertigen Eindruck. Der Anschluss an den PC klappte reibungslos. Das Anschauungsvideo auf der Verkaufseite erweckt den Eindruck als könnte die Kamera mit der Fernbedienung um 360 Grad gedreht werden Das ist nicht der Fall, man muss sie mit der Hand drehen. Die Bildqualität bei natürlichen Licht ist sehr gut. Bei LED-Licht eher mangelhaft. Meine alte Kamera liefert da ein einwandfreies Bild. Der Zoom ist zufriedenstellend bis gut. Das Sichtfeld ist ok, die Verstellbarkeit mittels Fernbedienung nach links/rechts und oben/unten eher mäßig wenig. Auffallend: Die Kamera wurde angeschlossen an USB sehr warm bis fast heiß, auch ohne Nutzung der Kamera.

So I used the j5 on a Zoom call with my brother, and though my PC is not Ultra HD, so I could not utilise the webcam's full resolution.But even at the PC's 1080p resolution, the picture was clean, clear, and crisp, speech and sound quality was also very good, and all done without the need for further software.The webcam clips onto the top of the PC and can also be used on a tripod in the same way, if desired, I fitted it so it was not covering the existing PC webcam.I then used the USB-A connection to my PC and went into settings>Camera.Once in there, I switched from the onboard webcam to the j5 by simply toggling the wheel, and that was that the j5 is in control.The j5 comes with a remote and has 5x zoom, so by using the remote, you can easily configure the image you see on screen by zooming in and out.There is also ePTZ control on the remote, which allows for further adjustments of the image, allowing you to pan, tilt, and control the 5X zoom all by using the remote.The webcam has a privacy cover.To sum up, a webcam which is easy to set up, with good functionality, that sounds great and looks good even at 1080p, that has a remote to control the camera... And with a 4K display will look even better.

This webcam offers a nice high resolution, clear image, tar shows you up warts and all for whoever is on the other end. It's quite a wide, chunky camera, but it vibes with an integral stand you can use to pop it on top of your laptop or monitor so it's balanced and secure. The audio quality was crystal clear for the recipient, and they had no complaints about the image quality, just that they could see me on it. Setup in Windows 11 was straightforward, plugged it in to the USB port, and started using it. The USB cable itself is USB-C, but it does also have a built in USB-A adaptor. This webcam lacks bells and whistles, like Windows Hello compatibility fit facial recognition, but it's got a good quality image and audio, so does the job it's meant to well.
