To be honest, I haven’t used this as a dog seatbelt in a car, but hooked to a body harness, not a neck collar, would think it would do the job. I actually use it when we go into restaurants, coffee shops etc, i.e. as a lead to clasp around chair legs, table legs or even my ankle! It’s much easier with this seatbelt lead, as it’s short enough that your dog can’t go far and is quick to fasten around a chair leg. I was finding it cumbersome to somehow wrap a flexi-lead around a chair leg etc, so now carry this seatbelt lead to use instead. Quick and easy, and no doggie wandering off or getting in the way of other people.

I had the clip in to seatbelt lead before I bought this until one day I had to slam on breaks and poor pooch flew into the back of my seat, luckily she wasn’t hurt. This allows her extra security, but room to lie down. Easy to fit and appear sturdy. Much better.

With the recent advisories for securing Dogs when travelling I found these to be the best option. Having used cumbersome cages (3 very unhappy little Dogs) these leads are able to be kept in place and quickly attached to their harnesses. The downside is until they decide where they want to sit they can get tangled but for one Dog it's ideal. Still! They are much happier having some freedom of movement and able to see us. Each pack has two harnesses and as we have two vehicles can leave a set in each. The length is adjustable. They clip around the headrest. Not much more to say really other than delivery was prompt and product a very good price.
