So right of the hop, I have to say that I bought this for the intention of trying to fix my coffee maker, not putting it on the heat sink of my computer's CPU. I noticed that lately the coffee machine wasn't keeping the liquid in the pot as hot as usual. I decided to take it apart. After defeating the "DO NOT TAMPER" screws, I noticed that there was some dried gunk between the heating element and the hot plate that looked a lot like thermal paste used in computers. I figured that it had lost its heat transfer capabilities, and ordered up this stuff. Then I thought, hmmm, would this stuff be able handle boiling water temperatures? When it arrived, I checked the specs and it turns out it's rated for 200C, so I guess this is an application that I can use it for. I cleaned off the old stuff, applied a coating to the heating element and reassembled everything. It appears to be working better!! There was enough left over that I can do this again should the need arise. And assuming of course, I can find it again in 7 years time!! (Pro tip - take a picture of where you stored it and put it that in a special Photos folder called "Stuff you may need in the future".)
