The description of this belt says that it is leather. It looks and feels more like vinyl or something else. It is really stiff and shiny. The buckle is an interesting design but a little tricky to initially figure out. It is value priced so the belt is a reasonable deal.

The leather and metal buckle are nicely finished. Connecting belt to buckle is tricky. I used a hole punch to get it started. The buckle to belt connection strip is on the inside (no belt holes in the leather). That makes for a neat appearance, but the belt to buckle connection strip starts 4" from the end of the built- you won't be able to use the full length of the belt for fastening. Make sure there is enough extra belt length before ordering.

This is a good basic belt for my son to wear to school. It fits dress code guidelines and looks nice. It is easy for him to put on and clasp by himself.
