Julian Bowen Aspen opbergbank

This is a lovely bench, nicely made but not so easy to assemble; even with the help of a builder!The inner screws are not easy to fit with the alan key as they are so close to another surface & the key cannot turn a full 360; so this becomes very fiddley; but worth it when done.I have placed the inside hinges on which are to prevent the lid from slamming shut, but in doing so, the lid does not open very far, making placing items in to it & taking items out of it very difficult so ( as there are no tiny fingers in my home to be caught), I might remove the internal hinges to allow full opening of the lid. Whilst these are minor points I believe should be known, once assembled, it is lovely!

Ordered on Sunday and delivered Wednesday morning. Perfect condition. Absolutely solid as I was expecting and made to look authentically aged. I have read a few other reviews from customers regarding this item, and a few of those reviews are not good. My advice is to check who the courier is and contact them in advance and to make sure that they are under obligation for you to check the item by opening before accepting. Most reputable couriers will do this. I feel sorry for those customers who received damaged goods. This is the third item I have bought from Julian Bowen and I am more than delighted. I give five stars for total customer satisfaction and I would highly recommend Julian Bowen furniture to anyone. Real wood at an affordable price and solid built.

Looks ok, gave the impression it was made up but was flat packed. Inadequate screw sizes for the job. Diabolical hinges - not worth the effort - wished I had bought a made up one

We opened the package the item was upside down, we also notice that the inside was broken where the spring hinge was and when we tried to close it all the long side ended up broken.

Solid, well finished and useful bench. Very strong and good enough to sit on
