I absolutely love this item, it definitely does its job. We are remodeling our kitchen, and we had the stove unplugged. I had the mat on top of the stove to protect it and my husband also put a piece of cardboard on top of the stove to protect it. We have a new stove and didn’t realize that if you barely hit the knobs they turn on, I guess one of the burners was turned on, and we didn’t know it. When we plugged the stove in and the burner got hot and it started smoking. I took the cardboard and the mat off of the stove and believe it or not it did not melt to the burner and it did not ruin the mat. It did bubble up a little, but I took it off, laid it outside and it’s just like it was new again. The only thing I don’t like about the mat, is the one I picked has ridges on top and it’s hard to clean between the ridges.
