I had a really weird experience where I ordered this ukulele (the more expensive version with gig bag and tuner) and I guess UPS took over shipping the item, lost it and/or broke it, and held onto it for weeks. It was eventually returned back to the seller without my consent and I was given a refund by Amazon. I really wanted this ukulele to be my first one, so I went to order it again, and was very sad to see that there was no longer an option to buy the more expensive package with gig bag and tuner new! I saw that now there was one available used for cheaper, so I reluctantly hit “buy”.I think what I was ultimately shipped was the ukulele that I originally ordered weeks ago that got “damaged” by UPS and returned to the seller. Much to my relief and astonishment, I received a brand new ukulele in a damaged box, perfect condition, for $40 cheaper than I had originally bought it for. I am very happy with my purchase, only knocking one star off for the shipping ridiculousness. I wish the seller would have reached out and told me what was going on and offered me the damaged box at a discount to begin with instead of just refunding me after weeks of waiting. Had I not took the chance and bought the “used” one, I would’ve completely missed my opportunity.All in all, I am happy with my purchase and will be keeping this ukulele. It came with a free download for the Kala app, which has ukulele lessons on it, but after a 1 week free trial you have to pay $64.99/yr to continue using it. So far I will admit, it’s a great app. It has a tuner built in and the lessons so far have been great. Beats my local music store selling lessons for $75/hr!!The ukulele itself is absolutely gorgeous! I haven’t brought it out in public yet, but I know that whenever I do I’ll get compliments on it and have people asking where they can buy it. It’s one of those things that’s just SO pretty that other people are going to want one too. It fits my personality very well and, from what little I know as an amateur ukulele player, it sounds good for the price.Also, if you don’t know anything about Mandy Harvey like I didn’t when I ordered this ukulele, look into her! This ukulele is her design and she is definitely a new inspiration to me!
