First things, minor problem sorted very quickly by Fango, the seller. Item was easy to assemble but needed firm pressure to close all the joints. Added a 60L container for the nutrient and it is ready to go. I think this kit is good value for money and a good buy.

This is quite a frugal space-saver hydroponics system. footprint is fairly small, and at six feet tall it will get top heavy. Everything listed was provided. The pvc couplings and end pieces were a tight fit - no O rings needed or shipped. The mallet was very necessary, I could not get the tubing to bottom out at each connector by sheer strength - I had to pound and whack with that tiny mallet. At 6'4", 280 lbs, that need for a midget mallet let me know I'm getting older!What I like is that everything - once I saw a full picture with bottom row having the outflow pointed toward your reservoir, I was able to assemble it correctly. I like that the 4 way connectors have enough of a restriction from the large growth pipes to the 1" adjoining pipes and the uprights so you always have some water in the grow pipes. So either there was some luck or some careful engineering in this system.I don't like how small the pump is, and how small the control panel is for the pump. I'm of the opinion that this pump - without a filter wrapped around it - may end up fouling and dying on me. So I'm already looking into a slightly larger pump with a control set-up my old eyes can read, and a filtration system to block fouling.I don't like how top heavy this system can be. I may have to secure it to the wall, it is against a large window wall so I'll need to rig something up but for now, I'm taking my chances. When the plants get to bearing, they are going to be putting a bit of weight up high on this system.The instructions did not give the range of hydroponic flow needed to fill the system. Some fluid is retained in the bottom of the grow tubes, but when the pump stops, most of the fluid drains out of the apparatus. I used over 4 gallons in my 3 gallon bucket under the drain. Fortunately I also put a dishpan (large, square, with the rig sitting inside the dishpan) under the outflow. After 2 1/2 gallons I know I filled the bucket with 2 more gallons, and slightly overfilled it with the last gallon. When the pump cut off, my 3 gallon bucket filled to the brim and overflowed about half a litere (approximately a pint). So this being my first foray into hydroponics, knowing what the retained volume could be would have been helpful, but being a belt & suspenders mindset kind-a-guy, I had the dishpan under the bucket anyway.
