I have wanted a vice for ages but never bothered as it all seemed a lot of effort to install. YouTube to the rescue! After watching a couple of videos, I purchased this item. It is now fitted and works very well indeed. You will need to plan the installation to your own set up. I simply added a slab of timber under the bench and found some hardwood face plates for the jaw. Screwed the back plate under the bench and that's it. Check out online videos to find one that matches your chosen setup.I did wax the runners and screw which has given it a smoother action, it spins open/closed very easily now.You will need a 22mm broom handle to make a handle. Installation was only hampered by two things;1. A very thick metallic Katsu sticker on one face of the vice that needed to be fitted to a flat surface so I just removed it.2. The surface around the threaded hole wasn't flat on the inside of one plate. I just sanded this flat so the wooden plate would fit flat.I didn't use the supplied bolts, I just screwed it with 6x45 screws. It seems solid but time will tell.Overall, I'm very pleased with the result.

Sturdy vice and easy to implement. However, has no stop guard so it can unwind out of the threads and also no quick release meaning it takes a while to open and close to its full extent.
