Great comfortable shoes which stay looking good so long as you don't get them wet too often!

Wears out quickly.My son really likes these shoes and he wears them almost every day. Unfortunately, after just two months, there’s a whole on the sole of the shoe. If it’s wet outside, his foot gets soaked.

I am a petite woman with feet on the smaller side who regularly wears kids shoes. I live in an outdoorsy, rural area in New England and frequently go hiking so I was happy to order these Keen hiking shoes for use on rocky, steep terrain. They are quite thick with a wide toe box which is fantastic. Right out of the box they feel sturdy and appear as though none of the seams are capable of bursting from a few wears on treacherous hikes. The soles are chunky and grippy, and I wouldn’t be worried about them splitting or peeling off the footbed quickly. At first the shoes felt too loose but pulling the bungie cords tight in the front made them fit properly and lose their wiggling issue. Plus there was room left inside for wearing thick wool cushioned socks.The major problem I ran into with these shoes is the height of the sides. The area that dips down around the ankles doesn’t dip down enough, so the top of the shoes are sitting right up against the bottom of my ankles. Every time I take a step, the shoes are smashing up into my ankles. If I did a 2 hour hike or longer, I know my ankles would be rubbed raw so I can’t wear these in their current state. I’m hoping that thick “heightening” insoles will get my ankles a little further away from the tops of the shoes so that I can wear these. If that doesn’t work, I’ll have to return them.
