This tool is to turn an edge on a card scraper. I recommend polishing the edge after filing the scraper square. The scratches left by the file will give a ragged cut.

I like everything about this burnisher except the steel is not as hard as I expected. After 20-years I finally broke down and got something 6" long. It is very easy to hold, and when you need two hands when your scraper is in a vise, you can control the degree you want to maintain while running it back and forth across your piece. I use this in combination with and old file I ground and honed (can't tell you how many hours it took to do that), because the file had harder steel. There are tiny scratch marks left on the two-cherries burnisher after use. But it still works well. I can't say what brand, but I do have a scraper of very hard steel and it is this one scraper which leaves the tiny scratches. It takes a little long to get my hook, and to be fair, that is with both tools (the new one and the old, home made one).

Product was as advertised. Good delivery. Haven't used it yet. Bought it with a scraper from the same company. Price seems a little high for a simple tool, but it's a bit of a specialty item.
