Had been pitting cherry's the old fashion way (with a knife and my thumb nail). That was fine when all you are doing is making a pie but I recently got into canning and decided there had to be a better way. So I googled it and found this tool and several other ideas as options. Let me just say, the paperclip idea did NOT work. I bought this tool and it has saved me so..... much time. You still have to remove the stems and line the cherry up so the stem area is at the top to get the pit to pop out properly. I did try just quicky putting them in and ended up finding a bunch of pits that didn't come out. Still a major time saver when you do it correctly.

This is a super easy and fun product. Much quicker than cutting out the pit for my children. My Littles are able to help pit their own cherries as well!

It works but because the tip is blunt, it squishes the cherry before punching thru, spraying juice everywhere.The hole for the pit to travel thru is too large. Sometimes the pit remains slightly attached, requiring removal by hand.I'll be looking for a better design for next year.

I bought 3 of these after I took my granddaughters cherry picking. They're so easy to use and super fast. The kids had so much fun. They are the perfect size for their hands and ready to clean. 10 out of 10
