Brian Kerwin and Linda Hamilton star in this US action adventure sequel. Dr. Amy Franklin (Hamilton) leads a team of scientists who want to revive King Kong (Peter Elliott) from the coma he fell into after being shot down from the World Trade Center ten years prior. To do this they create a large artificial heart for the beast, but they also need to find a similar-sized blood donor which comes along in the form of a female Kong who has recently been captured in the jungles of Borneo by explorer Hank Mitchell (Kerwin). After his successful operations, Kong escapes and discovers his donor is a potential mate. It seems a life of domestic bliss is in store for the pair until the army show up with other ideas...

Been looking for this one for a while now; finally got a decent used copy. As a follow-up to the 70s Kong, it makes a certain sense. The model work is decent, and Kong's expressions are pretty believable. The human story is kind of forced, but there are enough scenes with Kong and Lady Kong to break up the rest. The hillbillies going to hunt Kong is kind of amusing. The ending is a little different than I remember; I wish they had referenced the original Kong sequel, Son of Kong, a little bit, though. Definitely one to see if you don't have to pay out-of-print prices for it.
