I tested this using an android device (which yes it does also work for despite the title not stating as such). I don't take selfies instead wanted to test this as a general viewfinder.This product is essentially a small wireless screen with air-cast (for apple) and miracast (for android) and Bluetooth to be able to use the camera button on it. For that it is quite nifty, and works OK. The resolution isn't great and so when casting my phone to the screen (which was relatively easy, just turn on the screen, select your language and then it's in pairing mode, then on your phone cast to it using smart view if it's a Samsung etc), the resolution was a bit odd because its quite square meaning there are some black bars, that's fine overall however as it did work in mirroring the screen fully when using the camera and recording a video.The Bluetooth functionality to use the camera button worked too (they even provide a separate Bluetooth remote which is a nice touch). The battery life is decent enough for a few hours of casting and charges easily through USB-C.So overall depending on what you need this for, can be useful, it works great for me becauseI needed a small screen to cast to from my android. Testing it for selfies using the mag-safe (I have a mag-safe case) it did work too for my Samsung.So overall, at least for android, can say it works (albeit low resolution) and can recommend in general. One star deducted for the price which is slightly steep, currently there is a voucher but not sure how long that will last, and the screen resolution being quite low.

I've been meaning to get one of these for sometime now, since when I'm filming directly down onto my desk I can't see exactly what's in the frame. This solves that problem for me.As well as the monitor screen you get a shutter control, a USB-A to USB-C charging cable, stick-on magnetic ring and a velvety drawstring bag to keep it in. You don't get a cable to connect it to an iPhone - there's no wired option for Android devices, but it can be paired wirelessly with both Android and iOS products.The whole thing is very neat and compact, with little weight to it. There is a USB-C charging port and a USB-C Port for connecting to a device. Pairing it to my Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra was really easy and it snaps onto my Spigen MagSafe case without issue and is firmly attached.Although being quite small, the screen is clear, sharp and bright enough to easily see what my camera is capturing. You have the option of having this attached to your phone or separate and obviously it work with your front and rear cameras.Once set-up, to activate it on my phone I simply select “Smarview View” and this device and I'm good to go. You can view in screen mirroring mode or fill the entire screen of the monitor.You can have this charging and in use at the same time. Which means if you're out and about, you can connect it to a Powerbank and carry on.I've decided to pop a screen protector on, just to ensure it stays pristine. I had a spare lying around, which I just trimmed to size. I'll see if I can get a glass one the correct size.This is the first of these I've had, so nothing to compare it against. I have IOS and was able to link this display fairly quickly. You connect by bluetooth and by wireless and then use screen mirroring to make it display.There is also a wired connection that can be used with IOS only (shame it’s not just a USBC monitor) which seems short sighted in this day and age as this little display would have been really useful with say a raspberry pi or something like that.It does what it should, pairing via WiFi does of course disable your audio so you will have to select that again later if you want to play back your videos. The MagSafe part is purely a fixing device, no actual. Functionality through it.Battery life is Ok will give a few hours should that be needed and the buttons. On the top allow you to flip the display both in the horizontal and vertical axis. I’m not sure you gain a great deal from using it as the display at any distance is small and hard to make out for even the most basic of framing purposes. Closeup,yes you could take good selfies if that is your thing.I would personally just get a tracking tripod for all other vlogging purposes to stay in frame if required.At £60 + pounds it’s an expensive gadgets that I honestly cannot see myself finding use for all that much,it’s one of those niche products where if you need one it’s perfect but if you don’t really need it you can’t find a use for it if that makes sense.Ididchecksome of the functionality as other reviewers had mentioned it freezes when the recording starts, I ran this on IOS and android and didn’t see that. I did see a bit of a stutter when playing back the video i recorded, it also only displays on this rather than a true mirror when playing back on IOS. Odd because in apps like prime video for example it plays back. With no stutter and on both screens.So. The software is a bit bug loaded in places but overall it does a job.

This product was sent to me for review as part of the Amazon Vine program. The following reflects my real-world experience using it.In terms of build quality, the screen appears to have a robust and sleek build that is also lightweight and compact, ideal for travel.It's very easy to set up and use, since the pairing instructions are displayed within a few seconds of switching on the device. However, I do feel that the screen quality could have been better; it has a noticeably slow refresh rate, and does not utilise the full width of the LCD - there are horizontal bars on either side of the image. When you are taking pictures, it's important to be able to see everything properly, so the loss of space does not help here.Otherwise, it is quite a useful monitor - being able to use the much higher quality back lenses from my phone over the selfie camera is nice, while it can also be used as a remote viewing monitor - great if you want to take pictures away from the phone (the included Bluetooth remote shutter comes in handy here, too).In summary, a somewhat good value item - a better screen would have made it perfect.

I didn't know such gadget existed. These are perfect for taking selfies using the rear camera. I used this with android and apple phones. It worked with both.The basic idea behind this gadget is to mirror your phones screen on to it. For that one has to pair it with your phone along with the Bluetooth shutter button (included). Pairing was easy. You can attach this to your phones back if you have an iPhone or Magsafe cover (for android phones) or simply hold it in hand (that would be awkward though).Resolution of the screen on this is not as great as my phones but I guess that is not what this product is selling. What it is selling is that you can see what you are clicking/recording when you can't the screen of you phone and that it does well.However, I found that it does not rotate (like auto-rotate on phones) the view if I put it rotate it upside down which is problem if one adjust their phone.20% voucher on current £66.99 price makes it a good buy, in my opinion.
