I like to make homemade ice cream and so a good ice cream scoop is an essential kitchen tool and we've got a few but this KitchenAid one is the best yet. This has a chunky easy-to-grip non-slip silicone-coated handle and a sturdy scoop that has a sharp enough edge to help cut through hard ice cream.The best thing about this one is that the handle and scoop feel like the same implement and as you force the scoop through still-frozen ice cream it doesn't bend or flex or creak. You might actually get some ice cream out first time! Of course it's better if you warm it first in a mug of hot water and the scoop bowl is thick enough to hold the heat reasonably well, giving you time to get a couple of scoops out. It really feels solidly made and is a pleasure to use compared to some and so has to be worth the price.
