Love my Kitchenaid mixer, but the white coated dough hook that came with it was abject rubbish. 4 or 5 months of use and it had to go in the bin as it was cracking and peeling and I was left picking the bits out of my bread dough. Initially I replaced it with same hoping it was a one-off defect, but it wasn’t - same thing happened again. I’m guessing if you’re reading this, you’ve had the same thing happen to you.This stainless steel one is the fix - still perfect after 3 years of use. It is a bit more expensive but is actually the quality you expect from Kitchenaid - it should be what they supply with the machines.
