I don't have the most discriminating ear, but bought a pair of these to replace my wife's old MB Quart QL402S for living room stereo and TV/Movie output, and am very happy with the results. I didn't really know what "bright" meant in audio reviews till I started getting to know these. I'm also noticing the differences between these and our old speakers, which technically had great frequency response but were a bit murky in hindsight. With the MB Quarts I always kept the TV audio up for center channel/treble output so dialogue would carry, now I cut everything in favor of the RP-160Ms; they're detailed and precise while still having strong bass. I run these without subs because I live in an apartment, but they have more than enough on the low end to act as a complete solution in themselves.Really beautiful sound, and I was fortunate to get a new condition open-box pair of the Piano Blacks for less than any of these versions new. One thing to note about the Piano Black, it's a glossy finish (as you'd expect of a piano), not matte as the photo here suggests.

This is a layman's view, so I'll just review as I find and direct you to online reviews for more detail. Firstly arrived quickly and very well packed. They look magnificent and are reassuringly heavy and solid. Hooked them up via banana plugs to a Cambridge Audio CXA61 amp. My previous speakers were ELAC 5.2's which also have a great sound, but the Klipsch blows them out of the water for clarity and tone. I'm using a connected BlueSound streamer to unpack Tidal MQA files and the audio output is remarkable. My smile can probably be seen from space. I heartily recommend.

I have these paired with my Pioneer SX-780 from 1979 and the sound is incredible. The highs are clear and bright without any harshness and the low end is amazing given it's coming from a pair of 6" woofers. For music, especially vinyl, no sub-woofer is needed. Furthermore, I have these in a space that is approximately 12' x 30' with cinder block walls and they excel. I can turn them up very loud and the music is crystal clear. I absolutely love these speakers and would recommend them to anyone who enjoys great sounding music. At under $500 I don't believe you can do better than these.
