I used to be a sewing machine sales person and I tuned and adjusted sewing machines for customers. I understand how the bobbin thread tension affects your overall stitch quality and I desire to be able to adjust it for the different fabrics I sew on.I bought this bobbin case for my Brother sewing machine hoping the bobbin tension screw could be adjusted. There is a green glob of glue covering the adjustment screw preventing you from changing the bobbin tension. Since I bought this bobbin case hoping the bobbin thread tension could be adjusted, I did not bother to even try it in my machine. I cannot fairly rate the performance, I just want other buyers to know it's not adjustable. I gave it four stars since this is the rating that most customers give it.

This did fit my Brother Essence embroidery machine but after stitching for ~30 minutes it started making a funny noise. I determined that it was the bobbin case that was rattling around. I was afraid the case was going to cause my machine to jump out of alignment. I put the original bobbin case back in and the noise disappeared. I unfortunately returned this.
