It is exactly how the description describes. It is robust, well designed and perfect for holding a variety of mutes. I consider it to be really good value for the money.

Update August 2024. I'm ordering another one. I just gifted this one to a college student that plays in our community band when she is in town. I found the best place for me to mount it is on the left chair leg. I keeps everything in order, it's easy to reach and doesn't take up too much room between me and the chair to my left and gives me "slide room" under the music stand to play. I've looked at other brands that have a open end on the loops and I personally don't think this is an ideal set up as the ends can catch on things, especially if you keep a lot of stuff in your carry bag. K&M makes excellent products. I love their trombone stand that's well built and sturdy.Trombones have their inherent quirks, especially finding clearance for the slide. I mounted it on my practice stand and found it created some issues with which side of the stand I wanted to play on and which side the mutes sat. After some contemplating, I found a wire stand missing the rack. I mounted the mute holder to this and set it to the side of my chair. Problem solved. As for holding mutes, my straight mute fits the larger hole. My cup mute goes all the way through and rests on the cup. The small hole will hold either of these mutes but the corks can get caught when taking a mute out. The small ring is good for holding a plunger or Harmon. As with my other K&M products, it is well built and sturdy. Here's a few photos of how I have it set. Will see when I get to rehearsal.
