I have been using ereaders since they first came out, and I have a collection of Kindles and Kobos. I had fairly low expectations for the Clara colour, given the price and some reviews complaining about the washed out colours and the hazy text. I must say I am really surprised at how good the display is for both colours and text! Seeing your book covers in colour, and being able to highlight in different colours is fantastic, and really adds to the ereading experience for me. I had trouble deciding between the Clara and the larger Libra, but I am glad I chose the Clara. I really like the smaller, lighter size which makes it easy to hold and read on. I also really like the minimalist design, with only the charging port and the recessed power button on the back. The texturized lower back and lower part on the front feel comfortable and pleasant. Great job Kobo!

Its a lightweight ereader.Compared to pure bw screens, the screen is a bit darkish. But you will get used to it fast.UI is excellent.There is auto brightness available.Except for the lack of 3rd party accessories, everything else looks good.

I purchased my first Kobo E-Reader in 2019 and pretty much got 5 solid years use of almost daily use and LOTS of travel to and from work (trains) and holidays before problems became worse and worse ( kept freezing, slow to load) so it was time for a new one in 2025What I liked?- Kobo doesn’t lock you into one particular ecosystem and gives you the flexibility to add EPUB , MOBI and PDF files to the device- USB C charger port is a game changer for me as my Apple devices are all USBC and I can easily use existing charging cables- The new model has a robust LARGE On Off button unlike the old model with it’s tiny button on the bottom which eventually becomes a challenge to use- Colour I guess is good but for me it’s not a big deal I simply want an ereader to use on the goNegatives?- I think the price paid for a simple Ereader is a little over the odds for what you actually get but for me personally it’s worth every centPeppertree Verdict?✅ Winner!! The only EReader you’ll ever needEasy 5 Stars

I love it everything is perfect

I have bought these for each of my younger kids (8 and 5). Their time spent reading has skyrocketed. Library integration allows me to add books to their devices easily and quickly without having to worry about returning books on time! I can load books before a long road trip and they are entertained for hours while exercising their brains. Color pictures make it so much more enjoyable for them to read. I love that there is no paying extra to avoid ads. Battery life is great. The size is perfect for the kids to be able to sit and hold comfortably for long stretches reading. Every member of our family has a color Kobo ereader (two of these and four Libra Colours for the older family members) and just about every day I find myself thinking what great purchases these were. I am hard pressed to come up with anything else that makes me think that so often.
