bought this to find broken wire for the robot mower. However according to this device there was no break and also indicated that my wire was under the patio where it most definitely not was installed about 4-6 inches off where the wire was. So too inaccurate to be of use for my purpose

Non è semplice trovare un cavo interrotto,le variabili sono tante ,ma in qualche modo ci sono riuscito e risparmiato tanti soldi .Per un problema simile il tecnico mi ha dovuto rifare 50 m ti cavo perché non si trovava di preciso l’interruzione,con una spesa assai maggiore .A me è bastato rifare una decina di metri (per stare tranquillo)ed ho risolto

Das KOLSOL Erdkabel-Suchgerät hat mir dabei geholfen, ein verschollenes Erdkabel im Garten zu finden. Die Bedienung des Geräts ist unkompliziert und es liefert zuverlässige Ergebnisse. Es konnte das Kabel präzise lokalisieren, was mir viel Zeit und Aufwand erspart hat. Insgesamt ein sehr nützliches Werkzeug für das Auffinden von Erdkabeln und anderen Leitungen.

L'appareil détecte le cable sous-terre, mais pas si profondeur de plus de 10cm. Pas satisfait du résultat, j'ai renvoyé l'appareil. Le fournisseur m'a rapidement ramboursé.

This device is very good for locating the path of buried wires (even multi-stranded) but cannot locate a break in a multi-strand wire. I bought it to identify a break in one leg of the boundary wire for my robotic mower (as all robotic mowers know the boundary wire is multi-strand) and the device worked well in locating the wire, it was possible to pinpoint the exact location of the wire, but not the break. Presumably because i) there is not a complete break and/or ii) the signal generated by the transmitter 'bridged' the break via induction due to the multi- strand nature of the wire. Now the Amazon description and the device instructions point out no break detection for multi-strand.p.s. The break was caused by the recent heat wave since the break was in the length of lawn exposed to the most sunshine so if you have recently encountered the same problem try starting you search in the area of grass exposed to the most sunshine!

I managed to map electricity conduits left in our garden by the previous owner very quickly.Worked exactly as expected, under soil, under bricks, etc.Takes some practice, I recommend practicing first with a wire on the floor and get used to the sounds, etc.
