Got to say I like this product from the brief time I've used it. The weight is nice, wanted something on the lighter side for talking on walks. This seems to cope with the weight of my nikon z6, z lens and even the 5 inch Atoms recorder on top, with no problem at all. The knobs and levers are fine, no issues there. The thing that did impress me though was how smooth the panning, particularly the one at the base is. You could use that ability in a pinch to replace a video head when you've decided weight is a priorty. you'd need to ensure your tripod was level if you wanted to pan the basse, but this model does have panning at the top as well, it's not as smooth/damped as the base, so is less convincing as a poor mans video head, but is helpful for panorama photos, you do have a bubble level in the top of the head, but you need to take the camera off to see it, or you can use the level built in to your camera if you have one.

Muy buen producto, sólido, suave de funcionamiento. Lástima que resulte ligeramente pesada para un trípode de viaje. No obstante, muy contento. Recomendable.

I was considering spending a lot more on a ball head, until I saw a YouTube video, mentioning the sturdiness of the E2 head. A quick research revealed this head (the E3) as being built for heavier payloads, with a larger ball, a clamp design (rather than the wedge design which has always been a disappointment), two dropout points for vertical format shooting, and the ingenious design for tightening the ball clamp. I am very impressed indeed. I use this for astrophotography with a Nikon D800 with 14-24mm up to 70-200mm lenses, and the E3 holds them rock steady, The clamp tightening mechanism allows you to tighten the clamp such that it allows rotational movement (without slip) whilst you align the camera before you tighten further to secure (and it certainly does secure!!). It now sits on my Benro Mach 3 CF tripod, and that's where it's going to stay. Excellent value for money, and it looks stylish and solid, too.My E3 was the one with the panoramic head, and I can confirm that, uising a D800 with a heavy 14-24mm lens, with the camera in vertical format, the pano head does not move either. Perfect.
