The Kuretake No. 13 Brush Pen is a wonderful tool for artistic endeavors! These brush pens have excellent ergonomics that make them comfortable to hold and use, even for extended periods of time. I've found that they have smooth ink flow and a highly responsive brush tip that's perfect for calligraphy, art, and illustration. The build quality is also top-notch, with a cap that seals tightly to prevent the brush from drying out - a thoughtful touch that shows attention to detail. Overall, this brush pen has been a great addition to my creative toolkit!

This is my second Kuretake no. 13 brush pen. The other one I have is a smooth black, while this one is a matte, slightly textured red with a clear cap. If you've only ever used a felt-tip brush pen, this might take some getting used to, since it has actual bristles, like a paintbrush, but it's worth the practice/adjustment! These are so fun to draw with, and so versatile - you can get very thin or very thick lines without having to switch tools. This one only came with one ink cartridge, but I'm okay with that, because I'd rather use my own ink anyway. (These don't officially have a converter, but the Platinum fountain pen converters fit them just fine, and then you can refill them as many times as you want.) Highly recommended!

I live in an artistic house. Now, I'm more on the music side, but live with several talented painters. This pen is great for lettering and getting really nice fine lines.What I like:* Good fine lines* Nice smooth action. Nice bristles.* Feels good and the right weight.* Seems to seal up well to keep the ink from drying.What could use improvement:* It does not come with spare ink, it comes with one ink. So, the description is misleading. The box has a place for spare inks, but that section is empty.* In a way, that's good. The ink that comes with it seems to have flow issues. Getting clean wider lines was a challenge, even after watching several tips to improve it. I don't blame the pen, I blame the ink.My recommendation is that, yes, this pen is a good addition to your art supplies. However, I would also look into the refillable cartridges and provide your own trusted ink. That is the route we will go, but I wanted to review this as it ships.
