This worked wonders. When we used other solutions, our dog felt too restricted and tried to chew her leash. This one is just the correct balance between freedom and safety.

This system was so great and relieved any concerns I had about traveling long distance with my pet. He was comfortable, took to the system set up easy and now I use the system even when we go short distances. The bands are strong and the clasp system is secure. He was able to move along the line from one side of the car to the other with the secondary purchase of the little zip line. I highly recommend this.

We have used this product for years with our previous 30-pound dog as well as our current 80-pound dog. We couple it with a dog "hammock" that protects our seats while providing complementary safety to the zipline. The zipline is great because it provides adjustable front-to-back stability while still allowing the dog to move left-and-right on the seat (and makes it easy to attach to the dog regardless of where they jump in on the seat). The instructions say to connect it to the seat belts, but we use our seat belts to hold our dog hammock in. Instead, we connect it to the child-seat hooks on one car (see image) or we tighten it down between two headrest supports on the other car (see image). Both of these solutions allow the zipline to be secured above the dog, letting the belt connect to the back of our dog's harness. This configuration helps to prevent our dog from getting tangled (although it is theoretically possible for the dog to turn around and snake the belt around his neck, but he would almost have to intentionally do that maneuver; it never happens while we're driving and he's just laying down). In short, this zipline and belt will last you a long time and secure your dog to the back seat while still giving it a little room to move around to get comfortable. There are multiple ways to secure it to the car -- using seat belts, childseat hooks, or headrest supports. If your dog moves around a lot, make sure you pick a configuration that makes it unlikely for them to get the belt twisted around their neck. For us, this zipline and belt combination is great to combine with a dog hammock.

It works but is a bit unclear how to use and install.

Very easy to set up. The zipline extends more than enough, I attached it to seat belt anchors at rear of van. The leash has lots of loops to attach the hook to so you can finely adjust the distance of the restraint. Excellent, sturdy and well made. Strong enough for my 36kg shepherd.
