At first I did not think it was going to work as the light & buzzer did not activate when hand held & touched on a metal object. However before returning the item I fitted it into a collet on my milling machine and it worked straight away.Set up the fixed jaw on my machine vice to within 0.0003" very easily. I am very pleased with my purchase.

Bel outil que ce détecteur de bord pour fraiseuse, il est de plus très précis et prêt à fonctionner grâce aux deux piles fournis avec, le tout est rangé dans un petit coffret, très utile pour protéger cet outil de précision et donc comme tous les outils de ce type, très sensible aux chocs.

I live it. It works great on mills you can’t operate with the door open. As soon as this thing hits your metal workpiece it grounds out and give you a light plus a loud audible. The ball is metric so half of the sphere is .197 vs your regular .1 for a standard edge finder.
