The locking tool worked great on our 2002 Monster S4 Ducati. We used it while changing the timing belts. The white ring is a piece of schedule 40 PVC pipe. It was needed to act as a spacer against the engine case. It is approximately .8" or 20mm wide. Just tightened the nut against it and nothing moved.

Bought this to do the valve clearances on my Multistrada 1000 Dual Spark. Note only one plug per cylinder needs to be taken out for turning engine over effortlessly. Sooooo much easier than using the back wheel/bike in gear method. If you intend to regularly maintain your Duc then this tool is a must!
