This works really well. With one simple squeeze it undoes the foil and pops off the top of the lid easily and cleanly. Way better than my previous method of trying to cram a bottle opener into the top and getting nowhere. High quality item.

I've owned a number of different foil cutters. They all seemed to have issues. Some had an issue with the plastic housing not allowing the cutting heads to fully engage because the neck of the bottle is a slightly larger diameter about an 1/8" down on the neck. Others had issues where the cutters themselves weren't very sharp. Others the cutters quickly broke from the plastic holding them in place. The Le Creuset is made of metal. The blades themselves the two halves the blades are held by, the pins that allow the blade to rotate, even a piece of spring steel holding the two halves together... all metal. The blades are sharp, and the entire device is made to last! This cutter is a joy to use. Press the two halves in with a modest amount of pressure, just a quarter turn of the cutter, and gently pry up while continuing the gentle pressure, and the foil is neatly and quickly removed. I was just "blown-away" the first time using it, going... "That was so easy!" Yes, this is much more expensive than the plastic ones which invariable break or the blades are dull after a couple months of use. This is sturdy, well made, and has lasted a couple months already, is still working flawlessly! Le Creuset is a good brand, and I expect they will stand behind this product. I'm so happy that I spent the extra money for such a perfect product! Worth every penny!
