This book exceeded my expectations. So many beginners books leave you confused and not really understanding concepts. However this book is easy to read and to understand. If you take your time to read a section then practice, practice, practice (as heavily suggested in the book) before moving onto the next section then you will have a good grasp and the ability to make music with your ukulele by the end of it.Can thoroughly recommend as a great beginners or refreshers guide book.

I have used many similar books when learning the guitar, but this book on the ukulele is not as good as I hoped it would be. Many of the songs I don’t know making it difficult to follow the instructions . Could have made better use of tab.

This book all about ukuleles is a brilliant starter book, with everything explained very clearly, from basic music notation, how to hold and strum the ukulele, to 40 well chosen songs to learn the techniques and master the instrument. My grand daughter is starting to learn the ukulele at school, and this will be a great additional book for her to learn from. Very well illustrated throughout, can’t fault it.

An excellent book for both beginners and intermediate players. Sam's easy descriptions, instructions and diagrams make this one of the very best ukulele books out there; I certainly can't think of one better. Having taught uke myself to young and old alike I know which first book I'm recommending from now on.In addition, the selection of songs is excellent - worth the price just for these.
