I’ve got a great leather recliner that I bought eighteen years ago. It’s comfortable and I’ve spent a number of evenings sitting in our library reading or watching a favored program or movie. I really don’t want to replace it!I found this material here on Amazon and thought it might be worth exploring the possibilities of patching my old chair rather than replacing it.This material from YAFLC is quite nice and easy to use. Made of PU Leather (Poly Urethane imitation leather) the material is quite durable, water resistant, inexpensive, easy to work with and best of all it matches my chair quite well.The leather repair patch material comes in a variety of colors. The roll measures a generous 16 x 63 inches, self adhesive with a backing paper that protects the professional adhesive until you’re ready to apply it. The trick to a nice looking repair is to cut a patch that fits well and looks natural to the style and cut of whatever you want to apply it to. Of course you cut just cut a rectangle where it looks like a patch, but the more attention and planning you use to fitting the patch, the better it will look.First thing I wanted to know after receiving this was how well it was going to stick and wear. So, I cut a small piece to fit the top of one of shoes I wear around the house. I wore it in the house and around the yard for a month, Not a single corner lifted and there was no sign of wear. When I removed it, there was no damage to my shoe either. With all that flexing and my pant cuff wearing against it, I thought that was a decent test. The elbow areas on the arms of my recliner seems to be holding up well too.

I have used this product before to repair boat seats. The color scheme for my boat seats includes, white, blue and beige. The white and beige color predominate. I ordered the white and used it to repair large rips and so far it has held very well under differing weather conditions. It has great adhesion and still looks good after several months. This time I got the beige to compliment the white. It is the same "thick" material with the same adhesive backing. This will add uniformity to my other seats.
