Nikon continues a decade+ trend of ignoring its customers complaints by not including an Arca-compatible lens collar for its expensive lenses such as the Nikkor Z 100-400mm S or Nikkor Z 70-200mm S, forcing you to either buy an expensive 3rd-party replacement full assembly, or to tack on a 3rd party lens plate such as this one.I gave this plate a chance since it looked like it was actually made for my 100-400mm lens, and the vendor I wanted to buy a custom plate from was out of stock. After some fiddling around to make it work, I was surprised that this little lens plate exceeded my expectations and does the job very well so far.Installation of this lens plate onto the Nikon lens mount foot is fairly simple, but I've included a few pics to help make the installation clear. Here's what I did:1) Remove the small screws on the top of the plate (which has two rubber strips) with the included hex wrench. I removed the two screws from two of three screw holes on one side of the plate. There should be no screws on the top of the plate once you're done.2) Now install one screw into the single hole on the opposite side of the top of the plate, right above the manufacturer's logo. This will eventually fit into the lens mounting foot to keep the lens plate from sliding on it after installation.3) Install two small hex screws to the underside of the plate if they aren't there already. It's not required to these, but when installed they serve as stops to help center the plate on your ballhead or other hotshoe (clamp), and also to prevent the plate and your lens from sliding on the hotshoe.4) There's a threaded hole in the center of the slot cut into the plate. From the underside of the plate, screw each of the two included large screws into this threaded hole until they pass far enough in to move freely in the slot. They won't drop out, but they will be loose in the slot for the moment.5) Correctly line up the lens plate with the lens foot. The manufacturer's logo should be at the back of the lens mount foot, and the small top screw should line up with a hole in the bottom of the lens mount foot.6) The tricky bit now is to carefully screw the two large screws into the bottom of the lens mount foot while keeping the small top screw aligned with its own hole in the foot. Just screw the large screws in a little at a time. Eventually the top of lens plate should be flush against the bottom of the lens foot.7) Now tighten the two large screws until they are snug and stop turning--I used a large-bladed screwdriver for this. Don't over-tighten them! Meaning you don't have to turn them far at all once they start getting harder to turn. You want them tight, but you definitely don't want to strip the threads on the screws or the lens foot.Check your work. Make sure the plate is secure to the lens foot, and test it out.

RF 70-200mm F2.8 L IS USM用に買いました。アンチスリップスクリューの位置もきちんと合いしっかり固定できます。比較的安価な製品ですがレーシングカーの流し撮りでカメラを左右に振っても大丈夫そうです。

Bought this in the hope it would allow me to fix the heavy ish 180-600 lens to my tripod head securely and without the worry of it wobbling itself loose from the tripod head especially when carrying it around while still attached.By realigning the hex screws on the top of the plate, and using the 1/4” to 3/8” converter provided, this fitted the lens perfectly, providing a perfect and rock solid solution to the issue of the heavy lens working itself loose, or even worse, detaching itself from my tripod.A cheap solution which, to the best of my knowledge, Nikon has failed or neglected to address.UPDATE - After discovering that this also fits my z 100-400 lens perfectly, I've bought another one.
