These sponges have become a regular part of how I grow things indoors. I use them for starting all sorts of plants before moving them to larger setups. They hold moisture well, which is important for germination, and I’ve had a good success rate with seedlings sprouting cleanly from them. It’s simple to pop a seed in, and they fit perfectly into the little baskets I use. The grey colour is unassuming, which I appreciate. I've gone through quite a few of these, and they consistently perform as expected, providing a stable base for the young plants. They don't fall apart easily, even when saturated, which keeps the growing environment clean.

At first these seemed expensive for what they are, however looking at what else is available on Amazon they seem to be priced very similar to the competition. To be honest they all look rather expensive for what you get. Luckily as I'm part of the Vine Programme they were supplied free. they do have the advantage they are easy to use and functional and they appear to be a standard size.I remember visiting a Hydroponic garden in the wilds of the west coast of Scotland many many years ago and the stuff they grew was amazing so I have slowly collected various bits and pieces and now plan to turn our greenhouse into a Hydroponic garden so that my wife and I can grow more things like chilli's and tomatoes, I am told Hydroponics makes plants grow faster too.We are getting old and digging is not my idea of fun anymore, but making things I love.

This is a great pack! I got a hydroponic kit with only 6 spare pods and they got used up fairly fast! And I have found you cannot reuse them as all the roots are very imbedded in it.I had recently purchased a pack of sunflower seeds and decided to use the hydroponic system to give me sunflowers a head start. This has been great they fit my system perfect and I have loads of them now! The value isn’t too bad at all, works out close to 17p a pod.I have done what is suggested and soak the pod first then added a seed in this case all 6Sunflower seeds have sprouted within a couple of days. Then you can add the sticker and place in the hydroponic system.Overall it seems to be well made, well packaged and fair value you couldn’t really ask for more.

Good quantity of peat pods to use in a hydroponics kit. I've always wanted to try hydroponics as I love growing things from seed. Easy to use, just soak them for a bit, add your seed and hopefully watch them grow. I don't have a hydroponics kit yet as they are quite expensive, so thought I'd test out the success of the pods first. I used a plastic container which I cut holes in to test.Edited a few weeks later..... see last photo, I have successfully grown cabbage seeds, they worked ! Pleased.
