For bullet journalists, the Staedtler Triplus Fineliner pen is a popular tool because it is a very fine marker that doesn’t dry out for hours and hours uncapped. It comes in every colors of the rainbow and about 40 more. And it is a perfect fit for this pen holder. It’s a narrow pen but it’s shaped like a triangle rather than a circle so it’s easy to grip even though it’s so fine. You can find a nice set of 6 basic colors for about $10 at I can’t recommend Staedtler Fineliners enough. I use them for everything now after buying the set above for bullet journaling. Even writing checks! (If you too become a Fineliner addict and want a box of 20 in blue or black (or hot pink), sometimes you can get them here but you can always get them at the Staedtler website.)And since they fit *perfectly* inside this pen holder, you might want to check them out.Once you’ve got the right pen, you will be very happy with this pen holder. It’s durable - has never shown any signs of wear or fraying and I’m pretty hard on my journals, shoving them into a different handbag every day and writing in them throughout the day and evening.It’s also very sticky. Once it’s on there, it isn’t going anywhere!I suggest you put your pen into the holder before you choose where to stick it to your book (generally, you’ll want to use the inside back cover) because that will make it much easier to place the pen holder in the right place both in height and in closeness to the edge of the book.If you are willing to use a narrow pen, you will love this pen holder.If you’re attached to the pen you have, you could search for “notebook pen holders” and you would see some other options with larger loops (but they’re all black - no pretty copper colors) but I did that and I didn’t see what you *really* need in the results. What you really is the Arune pen loop set at because it provides three sizes of loops (medium, large, extra-large) that include a size for any conventional pen.Happy penning!

The backing to this pen holder is incredibly sturdy and very well made, it's not going to budge! The elastic is also of a very good quality and holds my pen perfectly in place

This product is very good. The adhesive back is strong, the chemical symbol is correct. I wish the elastic worked better with fatter pens and pens with flat circular bottoms. The elastic has become less stiff over several weeks use but not lost its elasticity.
