Unfortunately, my pile of Diplomas and Certificates intended for framing were left on a wet carpet. It did not get rid of the water spot or the heavier mold, but it did get them to a place of being able to keep them.

Whenever I buy a used book, I pull this out, tap it on the cover or dust jacket and skate it over the surface using very light pressure. And Presto. It removes all of the surface dirt/smudging without removing any color or having negative effects on the paper.It's really just a pourus cotton pad that contain very small particles of some variation of Staedtler Mars Plastic Eraser -- the soft white gummy type -- and allows them to be drawn across the paper evenly and consistently. Could you do this with a Staedtler cheaper? Absolutely. But this allows a greater degree of speed. It's for touch-ups.Note: the book needs to be wiped witha cloth after use to remove any residual particles. No big deal.You'll still need a Staedtler white eraser to remove marks, but for a quick cleaning, this is a very handy tool.
