I sent a couple of them to another continent as a present. I was a bit unsure if it'd be helpful or not. However, my friend, a distinguished lecturer at an Engineering School (Environmental Engineering), is delighted with these chalk holders. As far as I can see, it is sturdy enough to write on the blackboard without breaking the chalk, and it keeps your fingers free of dust.I am unsure if it is as reliable as the metal-made ones, but it looks like it helps you do the work without sacrificing your fingers and probably without that smell you get when using metal tools repeatedly.

Also ich kann mich vielen der Rezensionen nicht anschließen. Ich hatte bis jetzt noch keine Probleme mit herausfallender Kreide o.ä, bei mir funktioniert alles super.Im Grundsatz sind die Halter sehr einfach hergestellt. Die Teile lassen sich auch sehr einfach auseinandernehmen, aber sobald Kreide drinnen ist, halten sie bei mir bombenfest.
