These playing cards are a fun way to learn nautical phrases. Each card has a sailing phrase on it with its meaning. As you play your choice of card game you get to see the different phrases and learn them. These are good quality playing cards and they shuffle well. I flipped through the deck and there are some phrases I don’t recognize.

We currently have a sailboat and I pretty much already knew the information on each card. Its not really teaching you anything that will contribute to your sailing skills.I'd pass on these.

These are some cool playing cards with fun nautical phrases on them. You can play regular games like poker, blackjack, go fish, or solitaire with them and be learning phrases or ‘lingo’ that you might encounter while sailing or boating also. You can even drill yourself or fellow players (like flash cards) in between hands or while taking a break from a card game. Would be fun to bring on a cruise so you can practice your new phrases at the same time, or just have a fun theme of cards to play with.They are very high quality but font might be slightly improved to make them a tad easier to read, but some folks may not notice this at all.

Cards are cards, and these are cards. As for the selling point, which is the nautical themed "translations" on each one, I'm on the side of meh. The terms and phrases chosen aren't particularly rare or unknown, and they're not particularly useful aboard. I guess I was hoping for more "flashcards" with more useful terms. On a purely aesthetic note, the font used is really weird. I don't know if they're trying to replicate sails in the wind or what, but with some letters bolder than others, it just makes the words weird looking, in what I find to be an annoying way.

This is a good deck of cards that I expect to hold up well. The designs are simple, and the cards rely on the font visually. Personally, I don’t like font style, but I do like the variety of unique and useful information. In the end, I would order these again if I needed a deck to learn sailing terms.
