This is the tool you need!!! If you've ever attempted the removal of a hub/bearing assembly from a late model Ford Explorer, then you know! Take your time, be careful, and you will have this assembly out in a half hour. This tool is worth it's weight is gold!

As a DIYer, I like to fix anything that seems doable with the right tools. Been driving my trusty Toyota Prius 2nd Gen for 7 years and it has never been in the dealership or mechanic shop as all maintenance was as mentioned, DIY friendly. Then comes the wheel bearing at 200,000 miles starting to growl. Well, that was a first time scenario where, even with a slide and hammer kit and even with the HUB shocker kit, the end result was not a single budge except sore muscles, ears, and headaches. I eventually got the job done by removing the knuckle with the wheel bearing still inside the knuckle, and bringing it to a mechanic shop where I paid $40 for them to 20 ton press the bearing out. Even with the press, it did not budge, until a torch was put against it with high heat for couple minutes. That was a job I will never forget because of the journey I had to go through. Fast forward to 2024 (as that last story was from 2017) and the same wheel bearing issues had come up on my father's 2nd gen prius. Not excited about the process, I looked around to see if anyone had figured something better for the job, and noticed this tool. It barely came to public in 2023. Why did it take this long for it to be a thing?! Anyhow, bought it no questions asked, put it to work with my impact, and holy moly, it literally worked after about 10 minutes of gradually rotating the impact points of the hub. Knowing that the hub would need heat from prior experience, I DID also heat up the hub from behind the knuckle with a yellow bottle MAP torch for 7 minutes (Can pick them up at your local Home Depot or hardware store for about $50 more or less including the auto engage torch function). After heating, only took 3 more minutes to safely pop the hub out while NEVER having to use a hammer once. The torch was not angled properly and I accidentally burned my CV axle outer boot in the process and now, I am back in amazon buying a universal boot because of my foolish mistake. Rest assure, you should not have any issues if you do need heat, just be careful and watch where you are heating and turn the flame off once you are ready to impact the darn thing off. Will never look at wheel bearings being a nightmare ever again with this beast tool. From the Chicago land area and both Prius' mentioned have been 200,000 miles and NEVER had a wheel bearing removed/replaced. 17 years of corrosion in the rust belt will pretty much need heat. But for the other 75% people out there, you will prob be fine without heat. The tool will do the job. Just glad it's a real product as nothing like it existed before. Every DIY car guy should have this in his belt of tools.
