Thankfully I don't need to wear ties that often these days. When I do wear a tie at a formal event, I prefer to use a tie-pin to avoid the tie blowing about. I have had a single tie-pin for the past decade that came bundled with a pair of cuff-links.The sample Tobias tie-pins are about as basic as you can get - but they come in a variety of colours and will do. Unlike the nice presentation box, pictured in the listing, the sample arrived in a plastic bag with the tie pins in even simaller plastic bags. The main benefit is that there is now a choice of tie pin colours that make the most sense to clip onto a specific tie. Provided that I don't lose them, they are the only tie pins I'm ever going to need.

For your money you get eight very basic tie clips. These are plain with no pattern or decoration in a selection of colours. They do the job and the colours should complement most ties but don’t expect anything ‘fancy’. These are very basic. Unfortunately that also stretches to the packaging too. The display photos for the product shown the clips laid out in a presentation storage box. However these arrive in small plastic bags in a larger plastic bag to hold them together. This is a real shame as it means they really don’t look great for giving as a present. Nor for general storage.In summary. They work, they’re basic and you’ll need your own storage for safekeeping.
