These are lovely thick socks - warm, and perfect for wearing under boots.They do come up as knee high (above knee) when I put them on, as shown in the photo.However, as soon as I start walking, they slide down a little, and then go completely below the knee when I sit down. They'd stay as 'below the knee' high for whole day, persumably my calf is wide enough to keep them up there.I have no problem with the socks staying below the knee as I am wearing them under my trousers in the winter for extra warmth. However, if you intend to wear skirts over these and needing socks above your knee, these may not stay up that way.Other that than, they are very good quality. Stretchy and very warm and comfortable to wear. Washes well, too, in the machine in a laundry bag.
