Sounds good, seems durable. I wIll probably stuff a piezoelectric mic in it at some point to make it an electric guiro. Very pleased with the sound, look, and size of it.

I love the way this guiro sounds it is fun to use good for playing "under the board walk". You can get some chop sticks and make some great sounds or use the stick it came with. There seems to be a piece of wood that was leftover from the manufacturing process inside that is stuck and can't get out. But it's like a feature now it doubles as a really quiet shaker.

I wanted a traditional guaro and this is it. I don’t necessarily need the paint, but I wasn’t concerned about the look as much as the function. I have seen my friends play these, though I didn’t before.I bought this to play around with and learn something new.The size is a little smaller than expected, but not much. I had not read much about them before buying. If I were buying again, I might go for man- made material for durability, but I wanted something more authentic, though they can be more fragile. I kept the packing box for transporting it and use a rubber band around the narrow neck to hold the stick. I am quite pleased with the function and sound.These are a great way to learn something new while having a whole lot of fun.

This is just what you'd expect from LP, high quality, good tone and volume at a great price... I recommend this Guiro to all of us musicians, it's the CLASSIC.

As a trained music therapist I do music enrichment classes with adults with disabilities and this was awesome to introduce Latin rhythms. Participants loved playing this. Great quality with a pleasant sound.
