I have an 8" tom that I wasn't using that I decided to use as a side snare. I couldn't find 8" bottom snare hoops so I wasn't sure how I was going to attach snare wires to the bottom. I also wanted to avoid having to drill the drum.This item literally just clips on to any drum hoop. This is not as strong of a snare sound as having full snare wires across the bottom, however for the convenience it works pretty damn well. I may get another to attach to the other side to add a little more snare sound but it really isn't bad, especially considering the convenience.

Used this to convert a small Tom drum into a snare for a suitcase drum set I built. This did exactly as I expected and was amazingly easy and I install.

Works ok on small diameter drums is kind of weak snare sound
