I bought these to solve the problem of fitting a switch (namely a Zyxel GS1100-16) in a small 10 inch data cabinet I had purchased for my home office. The Zyxel had come with ears which expand its width for a 19inch cabinet (the most popular size) however, I didnt want such a large cabinet in my home, so the 10inch cabinet was installed along with other 10 inch hardware (power rail, patch panel, shelf) and these ears allowed me to fit this Zyxel switch and work very well.
