Seek sanctuary in the simplicity of this light. I’ve had nightmare after nightmare with other types of security lights. Halogen ones leaking and eating bulbs, other LED ones staying on permanently but this is perfect.No messing about with wiring and there are that many holes in the bracket that I could use the existing holes in the wall.Also with previous ones you have to go through the rigmarole of setting lux, sensor sensitivity and timer but the manufacturers of this have done all the thinking for you.Just put it up, angle the solar panel at 45 deg and point the lights at what you want to illuminate and you’re done. A simple switch on the back to turn it on from new or permanently on if you need constant illumination for whatever reason.The box says the range of the sensor is 6m but it’s more than that and the vertical range is excellent too.I bought it to light a rear yard to a stone cottage and especially the steps coming down into the yard from the gate. The sensor picks up the back door opening, which is directly underneath the light as well as someone approaching the other side of the gate. I was half way across the back street with the gate closed and it still picked me up.Previous lights have only picked someone up half way down the steps when they’re already tumbling down them in the dark!!10/10 for the sensor then. Also for 5w the illumination is excellent. Lights the back street up too and plenty bright enough to make the steps safe to come down.The feature that puts a dim light on during darkness hours is very good too. No need to worry about your electricity bill either with it being on low all night. They’ve set the light level when it starts working bang on too. As I said before, they’ve done all the hard work for you.Can’t recommend this highly enough. Well built, reliable, no wiring, good weather sealing and would light even a moderate sized garden up.

I purchased the 5w version in 2020 and it’s still going strong 4 years later! I’ve even just placed an order for another for a different location. It works all year round and it’s not in a really sunny spot either. It’s a constant “dim” light at night and then it brightens when the motion sensor is activated. It’s not really that dim, it’s hard to show but the first photo where you can see the warm yellow solar lights shows it on its dim setting, it’s not quite that bright but it’s hard to photograph. When it’s on full the brightness turns off the solar lights and is quite blinding to look at. Ok, it’s not pretty, but it does its job perfectly, lasts all night all year round, and is a decent quality, it’s not gone rusty!
