I've been in the 'reptile game' for a few years now, I have a few vivariums/terrariums and always find myself tinkering and tweaking things to try and improve my reptiles well-being. A problem that has always concerned me, both aesthetically and ideologically, is the sight/state of the housing after 'nights out' - heating and 'hiding' aside. Enter the want/need for a sort of LED (No heat emission (doesn't interfere with the current set-up) & lifespan of LED bulbs) night time/moonlight/ambient light arrangement that was easy to maintain (and didn't involve me having to get my hands too dirty in electronics) and looked good when installed (both for the reptile and for me) - due to the lack of products on the market, this 'out of the box' kit caught my eye.The Lucky Reptile NS-1UK Night Sky LED Moonlight Set consists of:- Standard 3-pin AC outlet plug;- On/Off switch;- 6-port bank (2" by 0.25") of sockets (each outputting DC 3V) to attach up to 6 LED's (3 of which come in the box);- 3 LED connectors with 1m+ connecting wire (each LED output is 0.06W).The configuration and set-up process took no longer than 30 seconds - finding a place to test it in the vivariums/terrariums took MUCH longer, but that was the perfectionist in me :p Once it was running and beaming ambient blue light into the housing I noticed a few things:- Incredibly brighto) bad for 2.5ft tanks, woke up Leopard Geckos.o) great for 4ft+ tanks, the light will disperse perfectly.... how to solve this? A plug in dimmer with an adjustable light control switch (although that will affect all LED's active in your set) worked PERFECTLY - I had one laying around from a previous tinker session (purchased, again, through Amazon).- Fitting each LED 'head' into wooden vivariums wouldn't be a problem, a drill bit of the correct size is all that is needed (each LED head has a nut that will enable you to hold the LED 'head' in place - handy) but a glass terrarium could prove to be a bigger issue (I have no glass sawing capabilities, but resting the LED 'head' on top of the meshing done the trick).- The distance shown on the box is a gross over-exaggeration of how close the LED could be, but with a dimmer that wouldn't be an issue.A great product, simple in design and even more simple to install - and considering some of the reptile accessory prices out there, this is a steal for such a great bit of kit. Although you may need to do a bit of tweaking to get it to work 'perfectly' for you, it is worth the effort (think, it's better to try and dim the LED's than to not have them bright enough). 5 Stars : ) Thank you Lucky Reptile.** HINT **Face the LED into a ceramic/other reflector, if you have one available - it worked perfectly for me.

Schnelle Lieferung. Das Licht ist einfach super. Jetzt kann ich meine Geckos auch abends beobachten , und ich habe das Gefühl dass sie sich nicht gestört fühlen von dem Licht. Habe es gleich noch mal bestellt für mein anderes Terrarium. Kann ich nur weiterempfehlen.
